We spent most of the day Thursday reading within the museum walls and walking the hallowed grounds of the battlefields of Gettysburg. The girls earned another junior ranger badge, while we all learned more about the sad truth of our country's tragedy of the Great Civil War, the ending of slavery, the Gettysburg Address speech by Abraham Lincoln and more. The clouds graced us with occasional shade and an unbelievable canvas to appreciate the beauty of the fields that have seen more than their share of the tragic history of the Civil War.
