Zejtun Olive Fest

Shortly before leaving Malta, we joined friends for the Zejtun Olive Fest down south. The festival is held in the heart of old Zejtun, down narrow streets linking the 3 town churches, amongst families and friends enjoying the annual weekend of olive harvest celebrations.

R & M attended last year and met a great family, who insisted we join them on a guided tour of St. Gregory's Church, which houses a small above ground crypt which was found accidentally by repairmen in the 1900s. We also toured St. Catherine's, the main church and were treated to a drink and visit at their home in town. Their hospitality and enthusiasm for their culture and heritage is unparalleled. An amazing night!
